BLERKING AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR BLOGGING
I have been spending a totally wasted day checking out other people's blogs. In fairness, I have had some breathing difficulties over the weekend, but that's really no excuse for sloth.
I find that I blerk more when I am procrastinating about writing (in this case, my final project in grad school). I just have so little ambition at present, and blerking is a way to do something, without actually doing something useful.
Actually, if I wanted to do something useful, I could always clean house. Nah, let's not get crazy.
However, if you have any ambition to clean, this is a great place to start.
I continued my frothy meandering, and found this fascinating article on the Arab Way of War. Truly worth the time spent.

THIS IS BEYOND BELIEF
I'd been busy for the last two weeks on a project for my husband, and missed this cartoon .
I don't always keep up with the local papers. In fact, the amazing thing is that a hard-core news junkie like me has developed the habit of passing on buying the Plain Dealer, except on Sunday (and then it's primarily for the ads and the comics). I do like the two alternative papers the Free Times and the Scene. Although blatantly left-leaning, they do provide news I can't obtain anywhere else, such as the scoop on the local school situation.
Funny how disrespect for minorities raises a firestorm of protest from local activists, unless, of couse, the minority is Republican, or working for one.

I'M BAAACK!
Right now, I haven't been able to access the Right We Are! site for several weeks. At first, I just assumed that it was the machines I was accessing from (mostly public or school computers). I sent an email to Maripat, my co-blogger, but haven't heard back from her (in fairness, she just moved to a new house - I doubt she's unpacked yet). So, until I hear otherwise, I'm going to assume that this will be my main blogging site.
Why do I care? It's an addiction, really. I remember reading about Robert Heinlein. Once he balanced the books (his original reason for writing), he quit. Then, a strange thing happened. He got jittery about not writing. He finally had to return to it, because he'd developed this jones for writing.
I think that's my medical diagnosis. I'm a blogaddict. And I don't want a 12-step program, I just want time at the computer.
For now, I'm going to try to limit my posts to 2-3 a day, with l...
