Financial Shenanigans

Obama's administration was involved in more that the Obamacare financial fiddles.

That's a major drawback of blindly supporting a President - his errors, deals, under-the-table actions, and cronyism will eventually leak out. Obama had a LONG run of good press. The non-MSM outlets were derided as "fake", "racist", H8rs, and conspiracy theorists.

Which, to be fair, some of them were.

But, not all. And people's reliance on the worst sources can be explained by the disconnect people felt from the MSM - whom they KNEW to be bigoted liars, and disdainful elitists, as well.

I remember when Obama was first elected, in 2008. I was at my post, watching the kids stream in for their first class.

Their faces were shining - they were ECSTATIC that Obama had won. Their optimism was obvious, and they re-doubled their efforts in school.

Well, for a small few, that would have be 2 times zero. But, even for the worst students, they saw a vision of what life COULD be, if they made the effort.

Circumstances over the following years led to defensive support in the face of criticism, refusal to see evidence that contradicted their bias, and, eventually, disillusionment and bitterness.

And, chaos - don't forget - deliberately provoked by the extreme Leftist end of the spectrum, callously using idealistic young people to suffer the consequences. Very much like their predecessors, the New Left (follow the link to learn more about them - sometimes, I forget that younger people didn't have the advantage that people my age had, to directly see them in action, and learn about their underlying motives).

If You're a Church Member, Better Prepare

...to have to put more money into the plate - because the GayNazis will be gunning (dare I write that?) for your tax exemption.

I'm betting that the IRS will go after the Catholics and the Mormons first.  A lot of churches will sit on the sidelines, thinking that they're not going to have the same happen to them.

We know how well that work in the past when the Fascists attacked - yes, they hit the low-hanging fruit first, but, don't worry, they'll get around to you, too.

Our lawmakers could be of immediate help by passing legislation for ALL churches and other religious institutions - if the IRS goes after one of them, the decision applies to ALL of them!  No exceptions - either ALL churches lose tax-exempt status, or NONE of them do.

That, coupled with the logical step of forcing Obamacare on ALL lawmakers, judges, and bureaucrats, might halt their power grab - at least temporarily.

Frankly, until this week, I believed that the USA was indestructible.  No longer - we are hanging on the ropes, and only habit and inertia are keeping us from complete tyranny.

The Gathering Storm...

...all apologies to Winston Churchill, who named his 1st of the WWII books that way.

No, we in America are preparing for a Storm - of Classic Proportions.

storm-clouds

It's beginning to look like a CORKER - and it's going to hit Barry's "natural constituency":

  • Single women

  • Part-time workers

  • Artists, actors, musicians - anyone who works on a sporadic basis, and whose income fluctuates

  • People who receive a regular paycheck, but may have received extra money outside of that - such as teachers

What is the cause of that storm?

Obamacare - or, for those who decided, after it turned out to be a stinker - ACA, the Affordable Care Act.

Ya' see, people got those subsidies because they entered information in the website, or told the person over the phone, what they were making.  I'm betting that MOST of them wildly underestimated - either through wishful thinking, or because the fools didn't understand the meaning of NET pay.  It's amazing how many people never think about how much they make; for most people, the amount they take home is what sticks in their minds.  So, I'm betting that most of the subsidy-receivers used the net pay as their earnings.

And, that's where the fun begins.

If they underestimated, they received MORE subsidy than they were entitled to.  And, unlike your mama, who would have said, "Oh, that's all right, honey, you can keep the money", the feds will take it back - with interest, if possible.  When these folks file their income taxes, they will find that they OWE Uncle Sam - and it will come in the form of a reduced IRS refund, or none at all.

Let the games begin.

Why Sebelius' Farewell Address Was So Satisfying

Here's the link to the video.

  1. KS is just one example of the overly-self-important, elitist women who are SURE they are superior to the Hoi Polloi.  She kind of smiles (well, it REALLY doesn't look like a smile - more like gas pains - tight-lipped, and NOT amused) condescendingly when challenged, barely tolerating the time before she can explain - in VERY simple words (you KNOW how the commoners are - they just WON'T understand complex thoughts), her position.

  2. When she fell on her @$$, during the Obamacare rollout, she was clearly LIVID - she went from her usual tight-lipped expression to nearly having her lips DISAPPEAR - well, kind of like the usability of the web app.  Naturally, like any well-bred WASP (except for that icky P part - no need to actually get involved in religion - opiate of the masses and all), she resolutely accepted responsibility.  Not that she was actually responsible, you understand, just that, in the elite tradition, she would SAY she was responsible.

  3. You can't say she didn't do her part - throwing money around to fix the problem, shoveling vast numbers of plebians - I mean, citizens - into the system, even resorting to AGAIN changing regulations to allow for delayed sign-up, waiving verification, pushing them into Medicaid, and, finally, LOTS and LOTS of unemployed - and, for all we know, unemployable - former ACORN activists, felons, layabouts, and regular people, to man the phones to sign up applicants.

  4. It took Time and Money, and probably Blood, Sweat, and Tears (great band, BTW), to fudge the numbers - I mean, count the applications - and FINALLY announce that the whole thing was a HUGE success!  For several days, she basked in the glory.

  5. Until she was fired - I mean DECIDED of her OWN volition to resign.  Have to go out when you're on top!

  6. Next on the Sebelius Success Train?  A memoir (one that, like most Democratic books, will mysteriously end up on the Best Seller list, despite being remaindered everywhere - read the comments at the link for some suggestions as to WHY), a cushy university chair, and piles of money that SOMEHOW just HAPPEN to end up in her bank account.

Someday, walk around your local public library, and count up the number of Democratic memoirs, compared to the Republican/Conservative ones - The D's WAY outnumber the R's.  Funnily enough, you can seldom find Grant's highly regarded memoirs (he was likely HEAVILY assisted by Mark Twain - unlike Ayers, an engaging writer).

Alive, But Definitely NOT Kicking!

I'm 10 days out from my knee surgery. It's generally been a easier recovery than the first.  I decided to use the skilled nursing re...
