Thinking Back on Abortion Decision

I read this post by Frederica Mathewes-Green in National Review. Her thinking parallels much of mine. We expected that abortion would be rare. What we didn’t realize was that, once abortion becomes available, it becomes the most attractive option for everyone around the pregnant woman. If she has an abortion, it’s like the pregnancy never existed. No one is inconvenienced. It doesn’t cause trouble for the father of the baby, or her boss, or the person in charge of her college scholarship. It won’t embarrass her mom and dad.  Read more at: http://www.nationalreview.com/article/430152/abortion-roe-v-wade-unborn-children-women-feminism-march-life One in five pregnancies? That number is higher than I would have expected. I do agree with the idea that abortion is convenient for OTHERS, more than the mother. Women are being "subtly" coerced into a decision that they would NOT choose, if it were truly a CHOICE. Many people have to work hard to push these women into a decisio...

This is a CULTURE War, Not a Political One

At The Caller, this guy says it MUCH better than I have. Analysis:  Leftism is a status machine. A very, very successful status machine. Conservatives have lost status battle after status battle, often  because  they fought it as a policy battle. It rarely is. More at the link - read it, Share it, spread it around. [NOTE] I've added to this since I posted it - I keep finding other relevant link. Such as this one, explaining how Social Points work. I'll keep adding to this over time. I've been hammering on this blog about the need to focus on the Culture, not the Politics, for some time: Pushing Back Against the Culture The Ikea Humans It's still the Culture And, yet, more - 8:35 am - Kurt Schlichter on Town Hall. And, someone from the Indian sub-continent - with their own experiences with stratified cultures - analyzes the American Upper-Middle-Class. Share

What is Hell?

I'd never seen this quote (Quote II) before, but it's quite apt for our times. Share

A Really Cool Experience

Image
I was given a task this morning - to proofread my grandson's story by Thursday. It was interesting - good dialogue and fast paced. If he continues writing, he could develop into a good writer. Kind of nice to pass on the tradition. Here's some graphics from My Favorite Things by Laughing Dad - if you haven't bookmarked it, do. Share

Assuming You Have No Other Life,...

...here's a link to a pdf of the Google lawsuit - it's lengthy, but very detailed, and seems to have LOTS of proof of the illegal bias. It seems a delicious sort of irony. The CA law Damore is suing under was originally designed to protect Socialists and Communists from being fired. The SJWs probably never thought that it would be applied to THEIR actions. Share

Now This Picture CLEARLY Says We're Not Just Busty Bimbos!

Frazer Harrison/Getty Images This photo says it ALL: Boobs Side-boobs V-neck boobs Square-neck with an extra v-cut boob (I really can't believe nothing popped out - "accidentally" Leaning in to show the boobs, with a side of Leg and Thigh! Nothing, just nothing says "we're serious, intelligent actresses" like all that BOOB! Share

My New Post Day

I'm going to set Wednesday as the day I post, from now until I have my life under better control. I didn't set resolutions this year. Instead, I contemplated where I had been, and where I wanted to be at the end of this year. Some things I'll be focusing on: Household - I'll continue the house re-organizing (or, in some parts, initial organizing). My goal is to begin hitting the maintenance targets (weekly chores), then moving forward as much as I am able on chipping away at getting rid of clutter. Financial - this is 2 part.  I'm going to be working with my husband to get his business off the ground. His plan is to hit Silver in Nikken (he's close, but he'll need my help to reach the next level), which would provide a base income separate from Social Security or pensions. Setting up financial records, and scanning as much of the paperwork as I can. Writing - I'm going to start with the revision each day, then planning A8, then any other wri...
