Tattoos

I was just catching up on blogs, when I spotted Cursed By a Classical Education's comment section.
everyone getting a tattoo should have to have a note signed by a nursing home that the tattoo-ee has recently visited to see what Korean/Vietnam war tattoos look like today. I'd be willing to bet the number of those going under the 'ink' would drop considerably.
The tats are getting to be a standard on many under-18 kids, both boys and girls. I'd have to say that black males and white females are the ones that are most likely to get them. Most popular type? For girls, hands-down, it's the ones on their lower back - according to Urban Dictionary, they're called Slut Stamps,
Those damn lower back tattoos that girls/women get. Sometimes also known as "ass antlers." Ubiquitous in porn

Love the name. Hate the tat.

A close second in my dislike category is the armband.

OTOH, look at the quality males you can attract.

I have seen this image before, may I ask where you got it from?

I dont think anyone should judge others no matter what they look like or put on their bodies. Self expression is a freedom that everyone should embrace. Its not your body the tattoo is on so why do you care? Tattoos are a beautiful statement about oneself. Get over your idealism and leave your judgemental attitudes behind.

those are some of the best looking tattoos out there, just because you don't like them and haven't got what it takes to have one (read: great body) doesn't mean others shouldn't get them.

Live and let live eh??

Try using Tramp Stamp instead of Slut Stamp!!!

Its a persons own choice, own body, and own freedom..to get whatever they want on their own bodies..cause its THEIR life. I say, do what makes you happy.

You need to do more research before putting your foot into your mouth, first lower back tattoo on a woman is called a tramp stamp, armbands while I would never get one the person you does get the band all away around the arm does have to deal with some pain, besides reading your inept, uninformed, diatribe. There has been many advances in tattooing in the ink and the way it is applied since the Korean / Vietnam wars, and could you narrow it down alittle bit since the are several years between those two wars. I will continue to preserve your right to your uninformed opinions but be careful those that protect those rights may not want to protect you...

ur definitely too ignorant to realize it urself. aren't terms like 'slut stamps' used among teenagers in high schools? (i'm sorry if that's what you are). i have a tattoo on my lower back that says faith with a dove meaning the holy spirit.. why do i put it there? because it's where no one can see it... not so it will draw ppl to my ass. for you to seriously belive that girls wit tats on their lower backs are sluts... then that's like me calling uninformed ignorant ppl like u foolish... of course, unless you are that too.

Sorry mate, but they are definately called tramp stamps, not slut stamps, and like the girl with the tattoo said, it depeds what you have there and why. I know girls who are slags and have tattoos there, but they do have them so that guys will look at their arses. If, however, someone has a tattoo their to express themselves in a way that will not be on show 24/7 and therefore lower their employability rate etc, then I would say that in actual fact, that person has put more thought into that tattoo than most. Tattoos in my opinion are an expression of the soul and should not be critised by people that do not understand them.

I have a tattoo on my lower back, and as another person above said, it was simply because I could hide it for a majority of the time. In my case, to hide it from my parents, but I am definately no slut! i understand that everyone has their own opinions, and you have yours, but don't attack others. Their body is their body and they can do whatever they'd like to it. This country has too many people like you who immediately feel they need to pick on others actions/look.

Excuse me!!!! Your type of branding gives artist bad names. As we all know you have to be 18 for a tattoo!! And as im sure your aware there are alot more problems with some of the youth today such as alcoholism and drug abuse! Your narrow mind has really made me feel that you need to grow up! I have many tattoos such as my childrens name and a tattoo of the prayer hands and rosery beads for my catholic firend who passed away! You really have no right to call women slags just because the have art tattoed on them. Seriously mate get a life!! Gavin

I rock a tramp stamp and love it.
i know there are people out ther elike you who just say that they are so over done and whatnot but just about anywhere you decide to get a tattoo is overdone.
Like everyone has been saying, if you dont like how they look thats fine because its not your body.
and as for having tattoos when youre old, well im not going deny that my skin will be old and wrinkled and unatractive in 40 years. Thats just how its gonna be whether you have ink or not. At least with a tat you have something to look at.

I HAVE THA SO CALLED FAMOUS TRAMP STAMP AND MINE ACTUALLY HAS MEANING 2 IT. MINE ARE 7 STARS GOING FROM SMALL 2 LARGE AND A LARGE NAUTICAL STAR ON TOP OF THEM. THEY SYMBOLIZE THA 8 MEMBERS OF MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY. IGNORANCE IS BLISS AND LORD U HAVE 2 B THE MOST IGNORANT PERSON I'VE COME IN CONTACT WITH. I PUT WHATEVERI WANT ON MY BODY BECAUSE IT'S MINE. U DON'T HAVE ANY THAT'S YOUR CHOICE. I MADE THA CHOICE @ 19 2 GET MY FIRST TATTOO AND NOW @ THA AGE OF 23 I HAVE 9...YES 9 TATTOOS. THEY ALL HAVE MEANING AND THEY ALL (EXCEPT 3) ARE HIDDEN. IF U DON'T LIKE THEM THEN DON'T LOOK. AND IF U DO LOOK DAMMIT DON'T COMPLAIN!!

You're a dickhead mate. Nothing better to do thah sit around making uninformed, judgemental statements. Waste of space.

I find it very difficult to take people like you seriously. I know a lot of people like you who are so self-righteous (right as usual...clever blog name, but sums up your bad attitude). I highly doubt people would care about what their tattoos will look like when they're old, nor should they. Life is short, so why shouldn't people get tattoos if it means something to them?

Okay. Everyone is allowed their freedom to comment on their beliefs, so those of you that feel the need to insult the initial post are contradicting yourselves. If people who get the tattoos have to freedom to express themselves, why can't the poster? On the other hand, This poster should consider a few things; The "tramp stamp" is often used as a place where people can have the freedom to get a tattoo but also have the ability to fully cover it when needed. I Have three tattoos myself, but looking at me out in public, you can't see a single one. One of which is a large cross symbolizing my devotion to my beliefs, and that is on my lower back. Are you therefor saying that me having a cross on my lower back is "slutty," and or in relation to porn?? The technology has significantly increased and the process is very different from what it was over 30 years ago. I personally don’t have an arm band, but I do know of a young man who has one and it is a symbol of his daughter who passed a year ago. So not all tattoo’s are pointless, in fact many of them are for sentimental reasons. In conclusion; I understand why some would not like to have tattoos on themselves, and that’s their choice, but at the same time, They have become a beautiful expression of one's self.

they are most commonly called tramp stamps, not slut stamps
and i would like to know where you got your statistics saying that black males and white females are more likely to get tattoos

Totally agree with the original post, tramp stamps and arm bands are no statements of individuality, getting them merely groups you in the countless masses that rock these meaningless butterflies and birth signs with generic curly qs. No matter what anyone claims as the meaning to these tats, the location and the pedestrian designs speak volumes about how willing the individual to follow the latest trend and try to look cool or sexy, but just end up looking like trampy morons.

PS I have a tattoo but I don't get self-righteous about it if someone doesn't like it

My body will look like crap at 70- tattoo or no tattoo. i dont see it as a reason to not get one (which i have done alreaddy)

Why would you want to live life so conservatively? There's no reason to have such a close-minded approach to life. It's completely up to you how you want to live, but I personally believe that life is meant to LIVE freely, not to restrict and spend hiding from things that are "bad".

After all, what makes a tatoo "bad"? I won't get a tattoo (especially right now at 17 years old) because it's too permanent and I don't want to change my mind later, but I redraw a dove with a heart on my wrist every day. It alternates between saying "hope" and "peace" below it. It means a lot to me. Whenever I look at it it reminds me of how I want harmony and peace in the world, and it gives me inspiration whenever I'm down.

Now try to tell me that I'd be a slut or some kind of a trashy sinner for getting that actually tattoed on me.

It's up to you, but really think about it.

I have a tattoo myself, and in no way do I get as defensive as everybody else does if somebody doesn't like it. People who get tattoos on their lower backs are fully aware that they're getting a tramp stamp, slut stamp, whatever who cares THEY'RE STILL TRASHY THERE. You have the right to express your feelings with tattoos, this writer has the right to express his feelings with words. Don't like it? THEN DON'T READ IT

not everyone likes tattoos we all no that. but that gives u no reason to say that all lower back tattoos stand for being a slut. tattoos mean a lot to a lot of people... so get over yourself! its the 21st century, its time to move on.

we only got one life, live it to the fullest. and for some people (including myself) feel that to do so, get a tattoo. My hip tattoo means a lot to me. u have no real reason to say things like that about tattoos when ur just to chicken to get one yourself.

people like u need to stop judging people by appearances. tattoos DO NOT MEAN I AM A SLUT OR DICKHEAD. (lol) u really got to get over yourself mate! get a life nd better things to do.

lower back tattoos r awesome. they r not tramp stamps. its a easy, convenient placefor tatts on chiks. i might get one myself. i no we all have diff opinions, but that dont give u the right to possibly offend and stereotype.

i love it it looks good on you them b****s are just hating!

Guess what everyone... tramp stamps are ugly as fuck!!! Most girls get them to feel like real rebels or because all their other friends are doing it. Whee!!!

Just wait til your 20 year-old bod turns 40 and you develop rolls, stretch marks, and cellulite in places your young brain never would have imagined possible... It's gonna suck wearing a grannie swimsuit to cover that up, and sucks even worse when you can't find any swimsuits in the catalogs you used to order from...

Hey, feel free to express yourself through body art, but realize not everyone's gonna appreciate what you think is cool.

i got my "tramp stamp" long before it had a name. i was 18 and thought it was a good spot to be hidden most of the time. so i didn't "know" i was getting a tramp stamp. it sucks that my awesome tattoo is called that now because of it's popularity...

wow, i dont know if "mentally irregular" really covers it. do you listen to yourself talk? are you so bored with your own life that you entertain yourself by posting undereducated and poorly researched blogs about something you just dont care for? what i dont understand is where the F*** your even coming from? why are you making such horrendeously rude and stereotypical generalizations about people with said tattoos anyway? i have a tattoo on my lower back that corresponds with the one just below my belly button. "maria" is all it says and there are falling rose petals by it. that was the name of my daughter, who died when i had a miscarriage 2 years ago. i think your a selfricheous b**** and you should probably shut your mouth about things that dont concern you. its like a food you dislike, if you dont F****** like it, then dont F****** eat it. DONT LOOK. i think its offensive and "trashy" that your over-weight and just generally unnatractive, but you dont hear me complaining. take care of YOUR OWN DAMN BODY and quit patronizing the rest of us.
