In any political gathering, it's a fair assumption that in small groups, 2-3 of the participants will be infiltrators, whether from government agencies or from political opponents.
Those from government will generally try to fit in. Those from political opponents will be the most passionately involved. Many of the "Conservatives" who quickly went "Anti-Trump" after the election are of the second type.
At the Capitol on 1/6? Perhaps 1/2_dozen outside, another 1/2 dozen inside. They were well known by the leadership of the organizations present. There were others - taking pictures and videos, trying to catch even small offenses. But the guys directing and 'nudging' the action that swept up so many in legal trouble were few.
Most of them completely escaped any charges, despite their ropes. Some, perhaps most, were informants to the FBI. Some were clearly under the direction of Leftists in Government, as was the "bomber" of the previous day - who was "completely unidentifiable" despite his/her/xir being caught on video placing the "bombs" in strategic places.
Recently, it's Tucker and MTG being caught working against the efforts of the Unofficial Dissidents of the Rational Right - UDRR, for short. There are still a number of them, working undercover to destroy the UDRR.
How do you identify them?
Follow the money. Many are foundation supported, either directly, or via heavily laundered foreign money.
In other news, I just checked the account that my Social Security deposit is made into. And, yes, both last month and this, I was paid the FULL amount.
There are those who hysterically intone their dire warnings about the 'fact' that the shutdown put the elderly, disabled, and dependent children in danger of losing their checks/deposits.
Those people would be clueless Leftists. And, the left side of the IQ histagrams.
Your choice for the proper designation for these people shown below.
I know which of the choices I'd pick, but...
I'm tired today. Yesterday, I had a podiatry appointment to deal with a plantar's wart.
It turned into more.
For years, I've had a recurring ingrown toenail on my left big toe.
It wasn't constant, but it required vigilance to keep it from bothering me. While living in the South, it was less of a problem. I mostly wore sandals, which left my toesies the freedom to wiggle in the air.
After my knee replacement, I'd started making regular appointments to have my nails trimmed. Just couldn't handle that much bending and trying to reach my feet. Plus, with my feet at the very limits of arms' reach, I couldn't see clearly enough to safely use clippers.
Yesterday, he talked about my options. I could have him clip it again, and use a medication that MIGHT reduce the chances of the problem recurring.
Or, I could bite the bullet, undergo a procedure that would likely stop it forever. It would involve injection of anesthetic, removal of a sliver of nail along the side, and careful attention during a few weeks of healing.
I opted for the procedure.
Now, on my own, I had to manage a lengthy process of removing the bandage, soaking the foot in epsom salts, applying the OTC antibiotic to a bandage, and wrapping the bandage with gauze and some tape. After which, I had to wrestle compression hose on, carefully put socks over the bandage, and slip into some hiking sandals.
Over an hour, just for that. Not counting eating breakfast, taking other meds, and doing my Cubii exercise.
It's not that old age is that bad (in some ways, it's delightful). It's that getting to the point that I'm ready for regular daily interactions and tasks takes a LOT LONGER.
If you are considering repair or upgrades to your house that touch on energy conservation, now is the time to get that in gear. Many of the tax credits will expire at the end of 2025.
We already did the first part of the project - 8 windows were done yesterday. We will be selecting the rest, and paying for them before the deadline. We can schedule the actual install in the spring.
The house already is warmer. This should save us a lot on heating/cooling.
