There are some very interesting revelations in this link. It does discuss the difference between a normal investigation, in which someone is brought in to answer questions (what you might call a normal interrogation), and something called a "proffer" - which, until now, I'd not heard of.
It's worth checking out the link.

Posted on Facebook First
Should have put it here first:
Just watched the HRC acceptance speech. She hit all the right notes.Share
But, she doesn't sing.
Her delivery is flat - she is too monotone (yes, that DOES count). She has several gestures that grate - that nodding her head like a bobblehead, her pinched hand pointing, that - Oh, yeah, smile! - thing. She has been coached, so it's all smooth enough, but she does not sound authentic. She sounds as though she is remembering to tick off specific points - mention grandkids, thank other Democrats, put in some reference to Trump - and contrast it with my position.
Sorry, she just didn't soar.
The positives: she didn't stumble her words, she paced herself appropriately - not too fast, left time for audience responses, pleasant facial features (no pulled down mouth - ages a woman HUGELY), no big surprises (the leadership hates when you go off-topic), she didn't dig a hole that she'll have to fill later.

America is NOT a Monarchy
I'm with this guy. He succinctly makes the case against "giving", or perhaps I should say, bequeathing, the NY Senator seat to Caroline Kennedy.
Where the blazes are the feminists on this? Haven't we progressed beyond the days when the only way a woman made it into the Senate was as a relative of someone? Bad as the "semi-entitled" Clinton run was, she did, at least, run for the position.
She was a kid when the President died. She's done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING political until recently, when she held out the Magic Fairy Wand, and blessed the Anointed One with the Camelot Imprimatur.
What Hogwash! She's just a rich kid, whose father died in office, and who spent the majority of her life in the lap of luxury. However nice she is (and, I admit, she has a good reputation for being a decent human being), she ain't the heir to the throne.
This is America - 'ya gotta work for what you want.

Does Barack Have a Clue He's Just Been Outmaneuvered?
Hillary has just managed to get Michigan & Florida's full delegates restored. Is that a problem for Obama? Oh, NO, because:
Lemme see, 211 (FL) + 157 (MI) = 366, by my count (of course, I'm just a women - you know we don't do math well). Is it possible that the Hillary additional delegates add up to more than the Obama delegates? Oh, dear, I wish I had more testosterone, it would make these complicated math thingys so much easier!
Hmm - I think - 366 is a bigger number than 365. Would that mean we're in for a REAL EXCITING TIME?
I hope so. This could be fun. Hillary, Bill, and Chelsea, all speaking before Obama hits the stage. Of course (mock serious face), they'll be praising Obama non-stop, not subtly finagling for a groundswell movement to vote Hillary in.
I love the smell of a back-room deal in the making!
The credentials committee's work is expected to win ratification by the whole convention Monday.Mercy me, he has the Superdelegate Endorsement! Like that can't change (and did, in his favor, during the primaries, when he seemed unstoppable).
Florida has 211 delegates, including superdelegates, and Michigan has 157. Both states are expected to be battlegrounds in the November election.
Restoring their voting rights increases the total number of delegate votes at the convention to 4,419. It will take 2,210 delegates to win the nomination.
Obama ended the primaries with a 365-delegate lead over Clinton. Reinstating the Florida and Michigan delegates will not affect that lead because Obama has more endorsements from the states' superdelegates.

Crowning the Next Kennedy?
I read this comment in Instapundit - Kevin Green thinks Caroline Kennedy will be the Obama VP.
This would be HUGELY popular with the Baby Boomer demographic, who still hold Kennedy in high esteem. It MIGHT pacify the Hillary crowd, although I wouldn't bet on it. If announced early enough, it might just take the wind out of Hillary's sails, leaving her no option but to graciously applaud the choice.
As a side benefit, Caroline is one of the few choices who would make Obama look experienced, by comparison.

I Just Smell a Rat in This Scenario
Let me get this straight:
This is a symbolic gesture - hey, Lady, you lost!
Does anyone else think the Clintons have another agenda? Maybe one involving superdelegates being swayed to vote for another candidate, one who has shown that she can win the all-important blue collar white man vote.
To do that, enough people have to either switch votes, or abstain on the first ballot. Could Hillary & Bill persuade delegates to grant that little favor? I think so. They campaigned for enough Democrats, they are owed favors by enough people, and, I'm guessing, they have enough dirt on enough people, that a little favor like that seems to be OK.
Obama better watch his back. He thinks he's a strategist. He's a babe in the bouncy seat.
Who's about to get dumped out.

Unbought & Unbossed - NOT!
Anyone besides me old enough to remember the phrase that Rep, Shirley Chisholm used when she ran for the Vice-Presidency?
Well, that DOESN'T describe Sen. Clinton, who traded a pay-off of her unpaid campaign debt - over $20 million - for her smiling and twinkly support of Sen. Barack Obama. [why do I feel the need to use both names? Surely no one could mistake him for some OTHER Obama. But I still do it - madness.]
The report below says PART of her debt - bet she gets it all.

Oh, Come On - It Was An Offhand Reference
This campaign season, for the Democrats, seems to be heading for a serious blood-letting. Let's not forget, that's one way for parties to become extinct.
What does this prove?
Despite some - ahem - ERRORS with dates and facts in the past, Hillary generally has a good sense of when events in the 20th century happened. She remembers, like most of us do, by associating an event with a time. Unlike me, she doesn't stop to think, "let's see - that's when Danny fell and got 5 stitches" - instead, she remembers by linking to a particular event of significance to her - the Kennedy assassination.
Obama is questioned about the comment. He dismisses it as "a mistake", and says magnanimously, "I'm going to put it behind me".
Oh, thank you, Saint Obama! You're offhandedly suggesting that it was a grave error, but you're prepared to rise above it.
There is NO reason for you, or your campaign, to take it as a veiled threat. It was a minor remark. Get over yourself.
In a side note, watch the video - he has this habit of nodding his head while being questioned. It's like the salesman head bob - signifying agreement with what you're saying. He looks like an Obama Bobblehead.

Who is Taking Credit for the Gas Tax Holiday?
On the O'Reilly Factor, Hillary talked about introducing a "gas tax holiday". Sounds like a copycat scenario to me.
In NC, the fight is heating up. It's all NC can talk about, and, being on the border, that means that it's on every channel.
O'Reilly's claiming that Obama's "likeability" is down 9%.
Dick Morris is saying that "the primary is over; it's all about McCain". Can't say that I agree with him, even though he is widely respected as a political analyst.
O'Reilly is saying that he has more information about Wright, and promising to talk about it tomorrow.
Using Surrogates to Fight His Battles
This isn't the first time Obama has used others to attack his opponents; first Hillary, now McCain.
Hillary on The O'Reilly Factor
Hillary is talking about the "gas tax holiday", health care, and other hot topics. I gotta be honest, she's looking strong, unflustered, and on top of things. Bill tried to get her to say something negative about the Obama-Wright situation, but she rather skillfully evaded that landmine.
O'Reilly got Hillary to say that she would be raising the ceiling on taxes to "what you (O'Reilly) were paying in the 90's" - 36-39%. "I am not going to raise the payroll tax on people who are paying more than they should", she said.
O'Reilly said that what she was doing was income re-distribution "and that's socialism". She disagreed, saying that the 90's was the fairest, healthiest economy we've had.
She sparred with O'Reilly, saying that Obama was NOT for universal health care. O'Reilly said "Obama's a nice guy". Hillary is clearly staking out the pugnacious arena.

Disparities in Vote Counts
Well, that clears THAT up. Not a Clintonian conspiracy, just a difference in timing.
More Obama Photos
I've been checking - although both attended the Va event, the most frequently viewed photos are of Obama.
Now, some of that may be because of the fact that he's moving ahead (at least on elected delegates), but I have to believe that editors are responding to the historic value of the photos.
Hillary on the Ropes?
Sorry, I don't believe it. She may or may not be the most politically astute person in the race, but she is surrounded by people who have years of experience. I think the race is far from over.
It should be an exciting spring.

Rent-A-Clinton, Redux
I found a rather disturbing story on Suitably Flip. It seems that Hillary is not above making small change from the little (and not-so-little) people that give to her campaign.
What's the big deal? You can download that information from the FEB website, anyway.
Yes, but you aren't allowed to make commercial use of it. By selling or renting the lists of donors, candidates can make additional money from people who are, then, ALLOWED to use the names for commercial purposes.

Obama's Slumlord Friend
I'm of two minds about this. As a community organizer, Obama made Rezko's acquaintance initially. Certainly, the fact that Rezko has been indicted seems serious.
But, people who operate in the inner city walk a narrow pathway. If they won't invest, they're redlining. If they do, they're slumlords.

Will someone please explain why Bush 41 talking to his son is an unforgivable creation of a dynasty, but THIS isn't?
