I've been back on the 'net again this week, and am gradually getting caught up on my ridiculously oversized reading list online. It's interesting to see what the hot topics are after a pause. Subjects that previously were omnipresent cannot be found, others have surfaced like those brightly-colored float noodles you find in a pool.
The Cleveland iman, Fawaz Damra has been convicted, and may face deportation.
The Sudan genocide continues, but has yet to capture serious interest. Only the conservative media seem to care.
Bill Clinton seems to have yet another version of the Lewinsky affair, which I find puzzling. I mean, the man's a Rhodes scholar, isn't he? Can't he keep his stories straight? Here's a clue, Bill. When lying about sex, KISS - that's the OTHER KISS - Keep It Simple, Stupid.
Correlation is not causation, but it can be awfully suggestive. (Francis Porretto, Bastion of Liberty)

NOT QUITE HELL, BUT CLOSE
I'm in AZ. I've never been this hot before. I keep hearing it's a dry heat, but, you know,
I've been attending Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ for a modeling workshop. No, that's not the one where you learn to work the runway. It's a method of teaching science and math (and, possibly other disciplines, but I only know about science and math). It requires a teacher to think long and hard about how students learn about relationships, particularly math relationships.
I've learned a great deal, but it's really difficult to make the transition to thinking about teaching this way. I'd like to try putting it into practice, but, first, I need to get a job.
That's also true of an OVEN!

ON THE ROAD UPDATE
I'm nearly finished with the first week of the Modeling workshop, and I'm getting adjusted. I'm sleeping normally, my diet and breathing are good, and I'm beginning to get a handle on the classwork. Although, the load is greater than I can stand at the moment.
Tonight is my first Pilates class at the Yoga Center across the street. I'm hoping it will be worth the time.
We'll be seeing Den's relatives this weekend. I'm looking forward to a little down time. It's been a very intense week.

WHERE'S LINDA?
I'm currently in AZ with my husband. We are working on a 3-week modeling course (nothing to do with fashion, it's a math and science thing). The time difference has wiped me out for the last 3 days, and the heat is a killer. It's only bearable during the early am and late pm hours. So, we have begun to live the live of native Arizonians, emulating vampires in their aversion to natural light.
I relly can't describe the scenery. It's quite barren of vegetation in many places, with occasional splashes of green and brightly colored flowers. The flower pictured in this entry is an example of the many flowering plants I've seen.
Despite the heat, I've been breathing better. My goal is to be mobile and healthy by the time I return (and, hopefully, de-stressed). Then, I'll be in a position to tackle my secondary goal of getting a job.
