Right As Usual

Obama's administration was involved in more that the Obamacare financial fiddles. That's a major drawback of blindly supporting a President - his errors, deals, under-the-table actions, and cronyism will eventually leak out. Obama had a LONG run of good press. The non-MSM outlets were derided as "fake", "racist", H8rs, and conspiracy theorists. Which, to be fair, some of them were. But, not all. And people's reliance on the worst sources can be explained by the disconnect people felt from the MSM - whom they KNEW to be bigoted liars, and disdainful elitists, as well. I remember when Obama was first elected, in 2008. I was at my post, watching the kids stream in for their first class. Their faces were shining - they were ECSTATIC that Obama had won. Their optimism was obvious, and they re-doubled their efforts in school. Well, for a small few, that would have be 2 times zero. But, even for the worst students, they saw a vision of what life COU...

For once, politics isn't the main headline in news. Unless you count Ted Kennedy's seizure as politics (I don't). The recent disasters top the news: China's death toll is officially over 30,000 - and is expected to rise over the next few days. With family sizes being so restricted over the last 50 years, few have other relatives to lend emotional support. The Everglades are already experiencing massive fires - I'm wondering what the remainder of the dry season will bring. CNN has a site urging people to assist the victims in Myanmar . I'm very sorry for the people who have suffered from the cyclone, but the death toll wouldn't be so high if the government hadn't stopped organizations from assisting, and stolen some of the aid for use by its armed forces. I've been enjoying the respite from campaigns and seriousness. Today, I'll be grading student work (a real joy! ), so will probably take breaks either watching TV or catching up on political events on the web. I'm going to make a prediction - Obama and Edwards are going to lead this Iowa caucus thing. Not sure of the order, but I'm leaning towards Edwards coming out on top. On the Republican side, I'm thinking Huckabee (yuck!), Richardson, and Thompson. Not necessarily in that order. I distrust polls for conservative voters; we tend to think "none of your business" when asked what we will do. I'm leaning Thompson. He seems both sensible and electable.

I'm waiting to see how this turns out. I'm strongly in favor of IDs; I've posted about it in the past. Voter Fraud , and No ID, No Vote

I am definitely NOT ready to start the next presidential election season, but, just as with Christmas, there are those who can't wait for the official start of the season. Dennis Miller is one. He has a funny video up on Foxnews. Miller seems to act as though McCain and Guiliani have a virtual lock on the nomination. If, by some chance they DO get the nod, look for a major blowout - the Republican party will fractionate, go into meltdown, and hand the election, gift-wrapped, to the Democrats. The only Republicans that like those two are the RINOs. And they can't deliver the votes - they're too busy pretending they're really undercover Democrats. Look, the two so-called front-runners carry more baggage than a skycap trailing after Oprah Winfrey's world tour. They have news-worthy divorces, pro-abortion views, and, between the two of them, more flip-flops than either Kerry or a carload of sophomores headed to Florida for spring break.
