Not a Bad Idea
The thinking is that many of the EBT-purchased products go to places like the Dominican Republic, to be resold at a markup from nothing. Such a practice undercuts the DR farmers and merchants, and ultimately hurts the DR economy.
I've known Dominicans - great people, fabulous work ethic, polite, and excellent representatives of their country's culture.
Now, these are WORKING people, not imported gangers.
I think that's true of most countries - if the person is a decent person in their own country, they'll be equally at home in our country, whatever the cultural/language differences.
The trouble is that so many have come over, bringing in criminal natures and low-down history, disdain for the native population, who they consider fleece to be sheared, and a "Give Me Stuff!" attitude. They are also, too frequently, sexist and racist PIGS, who consider it their RIGHT to abuse and assault unaccompanied women.
I get that many who arrive over the last 10-15 years are hard working, respectable family people, who just want to be a part of America.
And, many are not.
They come over to pull the rest of the family here ahead of the rules, laws, and regulations.
They ignore the law and rule based society to defraud, evade taxes, and get their hands on the money that flows freely from rapacious Dem (and a few GOP) politicians.
If they get into a position of authority in an American business, they screw with the system to import a lot of semi-serfs, who have to provide kickbacks to their boss from their meager paychecks. Many of them are NOT geniuses, but "credentialed" imports, who are incapable of doing the job they are being paid for. The few who can handle the work have to pick up the slack (both Americans AND some of the imports).
I'm tired. The health situation in my family is still in flux. I'm putting a lot of effort to clear out junk from my house, keep up with my PT exercises, and get my office in shape for both work and hobby.

Happy Halloween!
I'm getting ready to handle the running-around tasks of the day, followed by some relaxing 'work' handing out candy and admiration this evening. I HOPE the weather cooperates - there is about a 30% chance of rain around the mandated hours of Trick or Treat.
I'll hand out what I have to whoever comes. I'm looking forward to it.
It's amazing what a good night's sleep will do for your mood. I woke, after a long nap yesterday, followed by a nearly unbroken rest at night, feeling just wonderful.
I know that I often neglect proper rest or healthy food when I'm running around plugging holes in dikes (that phrase may have a different meaning to younger people).
I get it. We're just about ALL of us busy.
And, it's not just 'fluff' tasks.
Real work. Keeping our living quarters from falling apart. Keeping the family fed, clothed, and on time for work, school, and other appointments.
Paying bills - even if you automate, you still have to check them now and then.
Getting rid of clutter - junk mail, shredding financial info, removing and recycling packing material from deliveries, putting away stuff from shopping.
Laundry. Snow removal/lawn care. Car care. Kitchen - preparing, cooking, and cleaning up after meals. Keeping counters clear. Washing dishes, either by hand or machine, still has to be done by someone.
Now, when you have kids/roommates/spouses, you can offload some of that - sometimes.
When they are little, their presence means nothing but more work. As they grow, they can be remarkably helpful in cleaning up and maintaining order.
Spouses vary. Some do little to nothing.
Others, like mine, cheerfully and competently throw themselves into the effort.
To be fair, he is also quite a bit disorganized, dropping papers and possessions willy-nilly. So, I do need to periodically perform backup organization tasks for him.
But, that's a small price to pay for willingness to handle even ucky tasks, a cheerful attitude, and not having to tell him how to cook or do the laundry. As the eldest of 6 kids, he has done this before, and is quite competent in the home.
There is nothing especially urgent in the news, either nationally or locally. Several of the Senators - Grassley, John Kennedy - have been very active in unearthing the nefarious activities of the Biden administration, Obama administration, and the interconnected NGO/Dem/Media Left.
Thanks in part to their efforts, the Truth is starting to leak out. And, I use the word 'leak' deliberately. The whistleblowers are finally assured they would be retaliated against, and are coming forward - with PROOF.
The knowledge of the UN-Constitutional infamy, when it is fully out there, will leave a big greasy stain on a LOT of the Left Establishment.
