It's been 11 days since Charlie Kirk died. He was murdered by a Leftist fanatic, who apparently believed that any opposition to his position constituted actual violence, therefore, killing Kirk was justified.
For talking about issues and positions. In public. With the belief that respectful disagreement - what is called debate - of those positions was a peaceful way to begin to reduce the level of hatred in America.
And, I do say that strong term, HATRED, as too many passionate have come to allow their passions to overcome a recognition of common humanity it their opponents.
Opponents.
Not only those who physically attack them without provocation. Not only them who use anonymous reports or pressure on people in position of power to cause their victims to lose jobs, banking and credit who see no evil in arranging to have their opponents arrested or SWATTED, have their home set afire, or through their actions to cause an unstable person(s) to commit crimes against that person or their family.
But, more importantly, those that provide excuses to other people for their unsocial and often criminal behavior are also guilty in truth, even if not legally culpable.
ALL of which has happened in recent times - as it did against Black people opposing the powerful in the days when the KKK was powerful.
It's still happening, except the targets of those vicious individuals, although mostly White or Asian, also include other ethnicities, including Blacks and Hispanics.
One reason we have become so fractured is that many people - on BOTH sides - have limited their intake of information so radically that they are not getting valuable feedback from outside their own echo chamber.
And, then, there's also the spiritual chaos present in so many people.
