We've had them before in American politics, guys who were so mesmerized by their time in office, that they couldn't bear to leave after their term(s) were over.
Jimmy Carter
- Interfered internationally - a violation of the Logan Act.
- Criticized the American government that still sends him a check
- Was a friend of every dictator on the planet
Bill Clinton
And, the first President to hang around, wanting yet another turn on the stage - Teddy Roosevelt.
- Started the Bull Moose party after the Republicans declined to return him to the White House, leading to the election of Woodrow Wilson, racist (segregated the Federal workforce), arrested his political opponents (Leftists in the Palmer Raids), and utterly failed at the peace-making after WWI, which almost directly led to WWII.
- Initiated the Imperial Presidency
