I did rouse myself from my lazy stupor to find an interesting story about a private school in Lawrence, MA. In that city, only 4 out of 10 students graduate on time.
One aspect of this school leaps out - it's single-sex (girls). I'd love to see more schools adopt the separation of genders during upper elementary and middle school years. They need the concentration on studies during those years to develop as scholars, not "playas".
Correlation is not causation, but it can be awfully suggestive. (Francis Porretto, Bastion of Liberty)
