Opinion is split on the topic of life or death for Moussaoui. I can certainly understand why many want to execute him - he deliberately conspired to cause the murder of over 3,000 people.
OTOH, remember what happened to Charles Manson, whose crimes shocked a nation.
He is a pathetic, forgotten man. Other than a few loony-tunes, no one remembers him, or is around to make his senior years bearable.
The same is true of many flash-in-the-pans. My only problem with letting him live is that the moonbat contingent will unearth every sleazy tactic to try to free him before his death.
I imagine that it's hard to be on a jury that has to decide punishment for a capital crime. I certainly wouldn't want to have to feel responsible for making a life & death decision.
But, that's the price we pay for living in a society that gives its citizens the power to make their own decisions. Some of those decisions are difficult. That's the flip side of growing up - you have to make the tough choices.

I'm not as worried about our usual moonbats as I am that Moussaoui's ideological brethren will mount a terror campaign for the purpose of springing him. That could get ugly. On the other hand, it could also be the key to persuading Americans generally that Islam is incompatible with freedom and justice. We shall see.
